Once launched, interacting with the browser must be done over the devtools protocol, typically via chrome-remote-interface. For many cases Puppeteer is recommended, though it has its own chrome launching mechanism.
In a CI environment like Travis, Chrome may not be installed. If you want to use chrome-launcher, Travis can install Chrome at run time with an addon. Alternatively, you can also install Chrome using the download-chrome.sh script.
Chrome Launcher , ~
The ChromeHeadless launcher is great because it works out of the box for testing on Headless Chrome. It includes the appropriate Chrome flags for you and launches a remote debugging version of Chrome on port 9222.
However, sometimes you may want to pass custom flags to Chrome or change the remote debugging port the launcher uses. To do that, create a customLaunchers field that extends the base ChromeHeadless launcher:
I realized headless Chrome Canary is very unstable on the Mac at least. If I close down the Terminal and start it fresh, sometime it works. But then after running exactly the same script, it just hung up forever (I left overnight). I just updated everything (Chrome Canary, chrome-launcher, chrome-remote-interface) today and continue to debug. Maybe it's not its prime time yet.
On Chromebooks, apps can be "pinned" to the launcher with a right-click for faster access to more frequently used apps. The feature is more of a desktop organisation tool, which, for other desktops and laptops, is designed to support a class of browser app that Google calls "Packaged Apps". These are written in HTML5, JavaScript and CSS but live outside the browser.
A display name can be set for any custom launcher. If set, this name will be used for reporting instead of theuser agent. Here is a code snippet example explaining how to set a display name for a custom launcher.
Chrome OS had another take on the App launcher. Before Chrome OS 94, the app launcher user interface occupies half the screen when launched with the Everything button and full screen with you click on the caret icon to reveal more apps. However, now you can enable the new experimental Windows-style App launcher which only covers half the screen vertically on the left.
The launcher shows most recently opened files like the Tote section, followed by the most recently launched Apps and then a list of launched Apps. You can vertically scroll through the list of installed apps.
One of the most popular browsers in use today is Google Chrome. If you do not have this browser on your operating system yet, you can consult the this Google support page for installation instructions specific to your device. When inside Kodi watching a movie it is sometimes inconvenient to stop streaming a movie or playlist to open a web browser, especially in kiosk mode. If you wish to resolve this, all you have to do is install the Chrome launcher addon for Kodi and OSMC.
The Chrome launcher addon for Kodi can be installed in OpenELEC or LibreELEC, but you cannot install the Chrome web browser itself. These Linux operating systems are embedded Linux entertainment center distributions on read-only file systems. Root permission are not available for installing software. Until someone makes an addon to install Chrome itself for these Linux distros, they cannot use this addon.
Navigate to the Addon Manager icon again and choose "Install from repository". Navigate to Program addons and scroll to select Chrome launcher, and select Install from the default addon settings page in Kodi. After you install it, configure it to run in debug mode if it has any issues.
Update 4/23/18: The feature flag is now accessible at chrome://flags/#enable-home-launcher, according to Francois Beaufort. We have changed the feature image above to show off what it looks like.
It's no mystery that Chrome OS is moving more towards a touchscreen-optimized interface. Google has been slowly adding more touch-friendly and Android features over the last several months. We've already seen them make some changes to the launcher to make it better for touch. Now, Google is testing even more touch features for the launcher.
Currently, the Chrome OS app launcher looks like the image on the left. When you tap the home button, the search bar and one row of recent apps appear. Tapping the arrow brings up the full-screen launcher, as shown in the image on the right. A new commit in Chromium Gerrit adds a feature flag to enable the fullscreen launcher in tablet mode. It also changes the behavior of the home button. Tapping it will minimize all windows instead of opening the launcher.

Forget grabbing your smartphone or picking up a calculator for those pesky math calculations. Instead, just hit that Search button on Chromebooks and start typing to get an instant answer. Calculations will show up right in the app launcher box, without the need to wait for a new tab to open.
One day I managed to fix things: The KDE menu was launching google-chrome correctly. I forget how I made that happen. Shortly after that, my Google Chrome launcher changed into a Chrome Web Store Payments launcher, which neither manages to launch anything nor, for the life of me, can I figure out how to remove it, so I have this dumb broken launcher icon stuck permanently to my KDE.
What is Rofi? Rofi is a powerful window switcher, application launcher and dmenu replacement for Linux which provides the user with a textual list of options where one or more can be selected. This can either be running an application, selecting a window, or options provided by an external script.

Unity is the default desktop environment used in Ubuntu. Most noticeably, it has an application launcher that sits on left side of the desktop taking the whole vertical area. This launcher can be used to pin/lock your favorite applications for quick access and switch between running applications and their multiple instances. 2ff7e9595c
